Members of the board absent: Roger Lange
Non-members present: Bill Oncay

Bill Oncay gave a detailed presentation of the on-line voting program that he prepared for the Olde Canal Village Condo board of trustees. This program will enable all the residents who have a computer to vote from the privacy of their home. The program can also be used for polls and surveys that the board might want to use in order to get input from the residents. Questions about privacy, protection of anonymity, how residents who do not have computers will vote, as well as logistical questions regarding time periods for voting, availability of a computer for those who do not have computers, and other questions concerning privacy. Bill explained that the resident must put in his name and address in order to determine the Beneficial Interest of the resident. Once the resident has voted, the name of the resident is erased from the program and only the vote is registered at the BI listing. It was decided, that if this program is implemented by the board for voting, there might be a computer made available on the day of voting for use by those who do not own one. A trustee would be available to assist those who need help using a computer. After explaining the program and showing the board a sample voting screen, Bill left the meeting. He said he would be able to implement some of the safety features the board wanted to assure privacy and security to the residents when they vote. The board will review the program.
